‘Research in Clinical Practice’ 2014 – OxPal wins prize

Taking place in the John Radcliffe Hospital, the Research in Clinical Practice conference is an annual event organised by the Oxford University Clinical Academic Graduate School (OUCAGS). This year the conference (themed ‘Serving two masters: How to combine a career in clinical medicine with research’) took place on Thursday 6th November and featured a variety of projects in various categories including audit and quality improvement, original research and teaching projects. As well as presenters from across the UK, the conference also featured Professor Freddie Hamdy, Nuffield Professor of Surgery at the University of Oxford, as keynote speaker.

Mashal Iftikhar of the OxPal Medlink committee were able to present the project at the conference. We are delighted that the OxPal presentation, ‘Novel distance‐learning platforms surmounting resource‐poor settings to build undergraduate and postgraduate medical education’ won the best poster presentation in the medical education category. This was a wonderful opportunity to share the project’s work with a national audience and to demonstrate the versatility of the e-learning in global health.
